Watch: Your first steps into Pilates at The Rehab Hub

In this 45–60 second explainer, one of our calm, friendly Pilates professionals talks you through who our Beginners Pilates class is perfect for, and why some people feel more confident starting with a 1-to-1 package — especially after pain, injury or a long break from exercise.

Who our Beginners Pilates classes are designed for

Our Beginners Pilates sessions are slow-paced, clearly explained and carefully monitored. We keep numbers small so your instructor can watch how you move and help you adjust things to feel comfortable and safe.

  • You’re brand new to Pilates and want clear, simple guidance.
  • You’re returning after back pain, joint issues or a previous injury, and want to move without fear.
  • You’ve been advised to build strength, mobility or confidence in your body, but don’t know where to start.
  • You’d like a gentle, low-impact way to exercise that still feels effective.
  • You prefer a calm, encouraging environment rather than a fast-paced fitness class.

You won’t be expected to keep up with anyone else, and you’ll never be pushed into movements your body isn’t ready for. Everything is explained in clear, everyday language, with plenty of time to pause, ask questions and adjust.

“I was nervous to start after my back pain, but the Beginners class felt calm, respectful and really well supervised. I never felt rushed or out of my depth.”

— Rehab Hub client, Beginners Pilates

Common questions from beginners

If you’re feeling unsure, you’re not alone. Our video script is written with real people’s concerns in mind — and these answers echo the calm, reassuring tone you’ll hear when you watch.

I haven’t exercised for a long time. Will I be able to keep up?

Yes. Our Beginners Pilates classes are specifically designed for people who are new or returning after time away. Movements are broken down, explained clearly and demonstrated slowly. You’ll be given easier and more supported options whenever you need them, and you can always pause or rest. If, after watching the video, you feel you’d benefit from a little more individual support first, our 1-to-1 starter package may be a helpful place to begin.

What if I have pain or an existing injury?

Many people come to us because of back pain, joint issues or previous injuries. The explainer video talks through when a Beginners class is suitable, and when we’d usually suggest starting with 1-to-1 sessions so we can properly assess you. If you’re in significant pain, worried about making things worse, or have a more complex history, 1-to-1 support allows us to tailor everything carefully around you.

Do I need to be flexible or strong before I start?

No. You do not need to get fit before you come to us — that’s exactly what we’re here to help with. Pilates at The Rehab Hub is about building strength, control and confidence gradually. We’ll meet you exactly where you are and progress things at a pace that feels manageable for your body.

What should I wear and bring?

Comfortable clothing you can move in is perfect — leggings or joggers, a t-shirt or light layers. You don’t need anything fancy. We’ll let you know what equipment we provide and what you might like to bring along when you book. In the video, your instructor will also briefly describe the room and set-up, so you can picture what to expect before you arrive.

Can I move from 1-to-1 into a class later?

Absolutely. Many people start with a short block of 1-to-1 sessions to rebuild trust in their body, then move into a Beginners class once they feel more confident. Part of your 1-to-1 package is planning that transition together, so it feels like a natural next step rather than a big leap.

When you’re ready, we’re ready to help
